DISCIPLESHIP STREAM 

Lifton Church 10am 

Sharon Rowe will be partnering with Transforming Conversation to facilitate the Disciple Venue at Well Spring.

 

Sharon is qualified Youth & Community Worker, with over 25 years experience working and volunteering in a variety of children’s, youth and community work settings. Having spent the last 14 years working for the Methodist Church, initially in the Children and Youth Team, and then as a member of the Learning Network.

 

Transforming Conversation seeks to support and assist people to engage in meaningful communication through the facilitation of transformational conversation. Their aim is to create, identify and cultivate communities of people able to graciously hear and share widely different views that enable change and transformation.

 

Join us at Lifton Methodist Church ((Launceston, PL16 0DA), from 9:45am for refreshments, for an Introduction to Transforming Conversation (10am – 12:30pm). In the afternoon (1:30-3pm), there will be an opportunity to explore Methodist Way of Life resources and a chance to explore Transforming Conversation further.

 

THEOLOGY STREAM 

10.30am at Truro Methodist Church

Dr. Stephen Barrie will speak on FAITH AND THE ENVIRONMENT. 

Stephen is Deputy Director of Ethics and Engagement at the Church  of England pensions office. He represents the Roman Catholic/Church of england/Methodist Churches on 'Mining and Faith Reflections Initiative. 'We know the facts; why are we not acting on them?'

 

1.30pm at Truro Methodist Church

The Revd. Dr. Raj Patta will speak on 'Subaltern Public Theology:celebrating the Divine from the perspective of  those who are considered the outcasts of our society.' Raj is a Lutheran minister serving in our Manchester and Stockport District. From his experience of the life of the Dalits in India, Raj will speak on how does the Gospel reach those considered to be the outcasts in our society.

YOUTH STREAM

Perranporth Church 10am

Drama Workshops with Belfast based Play it By Ear Drama Company, 

Drumming Workshops with Cornwall based artist Random Acts of Wonder

Beach activities (weather dependent!) with back up additional dance workshops if

weather's bad!

MISSION AND EVANGELISM STREAM 

Truro Methodist Church 10am-3:30pm 

With Revd Ashley Cooper and Revd Martyn Atkins

The mission and evangelism workshop will explore what it means to be church in our situation as we join in with God to share the ‘Good News’ where we are.

It will be ably led by Ashley Cooper (Principal of Cliff College and coming with lots of experience of mission and evangelism) and Martyn Atkins (President of the Methodist conference 2007 and great experience in mission and evangelism).
